Mobilis is a science centre with a focus on the themes surrounding the movement of people, cars, transportation and associated technology. Situated in the historic university city of Győr in Hungary, the centre is housed in a striking building is based on the famous Wankel engine which also provided inspiration for the exhibits and furniture design inside.
Science Projects won the bid to fully design the exhibition content of the new centre and design and build the interactive exhibits. We split the content into four galleries– Car Body and Lifestyle; Energy and Transmission; Motion Control and Design and Manufacture. The exhibits were arranged over the two floors, and were made up of mechanical and computer-based exhibits, with some classic science centre exhibits and some new designs created especially for Mobilis.
