An exhibition on the Tromsø study – Norway’s most comprehensive and most participated population study. The research has provided important knowledge about health and disease and contributes to better patient care nationally and internationally. Exhibits for this exhibition included a 3D model of a macrophage where visitors can explore the cell using the microscope arm and learn about the stages of phagocytosis, a grabber game where visitors ‘catch’ and learn about different disease-causing microbes (including a special appearance from COVID-19), and a circulatory system where visitors can visualise the effects of blood clots in different locations in the body. Visitors can also participate in some of the tests used for the Tromsø study by trying out their balance, strength and tapping speed.
